About the Royal Australian Air Force Ensign Flag
The attractive light blue flag features the red, white and blue, leaping red kangaroo roundel which is an identifying feature of RAAF aircraft. The ensign proudly carries the devices shown on the Australian National Flag, however, the field of the flag is light blue: the traditional colour of our air force. The RAAF Ensign dates from 1948 and the red kangaroo was added in 1981.
