The Gael-Astrálaigh flag features the Or (golden ) cláirseach (harp) which has been a symbol of Ireland since the Fiftennth Century. The winged lady is a representaion of the Maid of Erin on a green field as the colour became associated with Ireland from the 1640s and according to the Vexilogical society of Ireland are the traditional colours of Eire.

The Irish Australian flag was boken out by the late Michael Bailey OAM an Australian television, presenter, journalist and poplular Australian on 10 March 1988 at the Vinegar Hill Woolshed, Rouse Hill New South Wales.
